Originally from Australia, Martin has been a resident in Canada for most of the past decade. He has previously shown in Vancouver, and Sydney, and his work is in collections in Vancouver, Sydney, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Florida. Martin has been making art all his life. At aged 13 he was awarded a scholarship to study a special art programme at High School which focused on the development of drawing skill. He studied architecture in his early 20's, and graduated with a degree in 1995.

Despite his early introduction to art practice Martin only began to focus on painting after graduating from Architecture school. His studies helped develop a linear rather than painterly style, characterized by strong graphic elements, and a bold color palette.

Whilst his subject matter varies, it often explores the natural world in a metaphysical manner, articulated with abstract devices.

Martin currently works from his studio in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.
